Since early voting starts this coming Friday, Sept. 20, the beginning of the Democrat-passed idea that 45 days of election day was necessary when for 250 years of one day with verifiable exceptions provided worked just fine, I want to remind everyone to vote and that, if you want a balanced, experienced person representing you, to cast that vote for the current 2nd District Congresswoman Jen Kiggans. 

Congresswoman Kiggans was rated one of the most bipartisan legislators in the House of Representatives. This proves that she wants to get things done for her constituents and will not only work within her political party to accomplish that.  

She serves on the very important committees of Veteran Affairs, Natural Resources and the very critical to our area Committee on Armed Services. She also serves on the subcommittees of Cyber Information Technologies, Innovation Readiness, Seapower and Protection Forces. She was appointed to these extremely important committees and subcommittees in her very first term because she is, and everyone knows she is, a veteran who is highly intelligent and extremely knowledgeable. 

Some ask what she has done for us directly. Just to point out a few of her accomplishments, she obtained over $1 million in federal funding that is being used for the new hospital’s water tower, preventing the possibility of an Isle of Wight County real estate tax increase to pay for all of it. She was instrumental in “cleaning house” at the leadership level of the Veterans Administration Hospital in Hampton, where many veterans who are residents of our area receive medical treatment, to ensure veterans get the care they deserve. She obtained federal funding to assist paying for a new emergency services radio system in Southampton County that is much needed.

We know with Jen Kiggans we have a representative in Washington we can count on who has proven she will fight the federal bureaucracy for her constituents. Vote for proven leadership that produces for our area. Vote for Congresswoman Jen Kiggans.
