Prince George Electric Cooperative says scheduled maintenance is the reason for a widespread power outage in Surry County.

The Waverly-based cooperative’s online outage map showed 390, or just under 17%, of Surry County’s 2,320 customers without power as of 10:35 a.m.

Neither Dominion Energy’s nor Windsor-based Community Electric Cooperative’s outage maps are showing any interruptions for Surry or Isle of Wight counties.

Prince George Electric Cooperative states the maintenance is scheduled to occur between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. Power should be restored to all by 1 p.m.
