Witches Night Out returned to downtown Smithfield Oct. 24, which in past years has drawn over 1,000 guests in costume to Main Street for discounts and food and drink specials offered by participating downtown merchants and restaurants. Now in its sixth year, the event kicked off with the traditional “witches paddling the Pagan River,” in which some arrived by kayak or paddle board.
