George Randolph Hankins, 81, has been found safe.

Virginia State Police and the Surry County Sheriff’s Office had issued a senior alert at 10 p.m. on Nov. 18 stating that Hankins hadn’t been seen since 12:30 p.m. that day. State Police canceled the alert at 9:05 p.m. on Nov. 19.

“Surry County Sheriff Office’s would like to thank everyone that assisted and provided information in the safe return of Mr Hankins,” the department posted to its Facebook page.
