Letter – Room sought for homeless woman

Editor, The Smithfield Times:

Providential Credit Care Management Inc. is requesting anyone in our community who is willing to help with renting a room to a homeless female, 33 years old. We would greatly appreciate your assistance.

We had great participation with our Barbecue Dinner sales on Dec. 7 at Main Street Baptist.  The funding that was raised is helping with our Homeless Intervention Project. Our board knows that if we have to continue to pay it all in hotel fees, the funds that we raised will not last very long.

Our client has a job, but no transportation. The money she earns is used for food and transportation to and from her jobs.  She is a caregiver for seniors in our community. I am told that she is dependable and very caring about the seniors she works with. The help that we can give her today will help us to be able to better help her have a better future.

I pray that anyone of you as community servants will find it in your heart to be a blessing to this young woman and to us as housing and community advocates at PCCMI. She paid for rooming until Friday morning, Dec. 13. I can be reached at 757-356-0591.
