More than 600 Dominion Energy customers are without power as of 3:45 p.m. on Dec. 11.
According to Dominion’s online outage tracker, the outage is concentrated at the eastern edge of Smithfield and western Carrollton along Battery Park, Nike Park and Smiths Neck roads.
Dominion estimates restoration between 6-11 p.m.
The cause is listed as “pending investigation.” It occurred as heavy rain and winds blew through the area. The National Weather Service’s Wakefield station expects the rain to continue into the evening with sustained wind of up to 18 mph and gusts as high as 32 mph as the temperature drops from this afternoon’s high near 69 degrees to a low of 33 degrees.
Neither Windsor-based Community Electric Cooperative nor Prince George Electric Cooperative are reporting any outages among their customers in Isle of Wight County.
