According to the warning, which will remain in effect from 7 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 10, through 1 p.m. on Saturday, between two and four inches of snow is expected starting Friday evening across southeast Virginia and northeast North Carolina. There is also potential for a light glaze of ice less than one-tenth of an inch as a narrow band of a winter storm coming from the south makes its way over Hampton Roads.

A day earlier, the forecast had called for one to three inches of snow.
