Operations at the Jamestown-Scotland Ferry have resumed following now-corrected mechanical issues with the ramp on the James City County side, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.
VDOT’s Hampton Roads District announced just before 10 a.m. on Jan. 20 that ferry operations will be suspended. VDOT sent another alert at 10:50 a.m. announcing the restoration of service.
The ferry provides service 24 hours per day, seven days a week, transporting motorists for free in both directions across the James River between Surry and Jamestown.
