Ashlyn Paige Newberry, a 2017 graduate of Smithfield High School, earned two degrees from the University of North Carolina Wilmington on May 7.

Newberry, the daughter of Donald Newberry III and Dr. Lynn W. Newberry of Smithfield, received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology and a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science with Honors.

She is employed by North Carolina State Parks at Fort Fisher in Kure, North Carolina.
