Editor, The Smithfield Times:

Letters to the editor last week addressed Michael Drewry. Of course, he is running for House of Delegates in the 64th District.

I was on the town council in Dendron for two years, and I found Michael Drewry to be genuine. He kept his constituents well informed.

Dick Grice (“Drewry dodges abortion question”) stated that Drewry “spoke with lawyer eloquence” but dodged questions during the Smithfield candidate forum, particularly the question concerning abortion. Unfortunately, I wasn’t there, but I do not ever remember Michael Drewry dodging questions. If he didn’t know, he stated such and got back to us.

Abortion is a tough issue, and I ask Mr. Grice, what is the answer? Especially coming from a man! Michael is a lawyer, yes, but he is also a farmer, and I think that suits the area well as a delegate.

I can confidently state that Michael cares greatly about his constituents, and I have no doubt, if elected, he will serve the citizens of the 64th well.
