Edwards makes Dean’s List at Tech

Dylan C. Edwards, a sophomore majoring in civil engineering in the College of Engineering from Smithfield, is among the Virginia Tech students named to the Dean’s List for the fall 2021 semester.

To qualify for the Dean’s List, students must complete at least 12 credit hours graded on the A-F option and earn a 3.4 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) during the semester.

 

Gibbs inducted in honor society

Symone Gibbs, a native of Smithfield, was recently initiated into the Virginia Commonwealth University Circle of Omicron Delta Kappa, a national leadership honor society. The society welcomed 265 new initiates from nine universities during January 2022.

Students initiated into the society must be sophomores, juniors, seniors or graduate/professional students in the top 35% of their class, demonstrate leadership experience in at least one of the five pillars, and embrace the ODK ideals. Fewer than 5% of students on a campus are invited to join each year.
