Mack Edward Hill, 78, of Smithfield, Va. passed away on Sunday February 27, 2022 at his home after a long illness. Mack was a native of Waynesville N.C. He was preceded in death by his parents Edward and Lucille Hill and Sister, Dianna Stover. Mack is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years, Diane Davis Hill. daughters, Michele Hinkle (James), Stephanie Hart, sons, George M. Pittman II (Sandy), Christopher R. Pittman (Jodie), grandchildren, Brandon Hill, Landon Hinkle (Tiffany), Amanda Wiggins, Parker Pittman, Georg M. Pittman III, Ramsie Pittman, Mariah Henry, Dalton Hart, Dylan Hart, Great Grandson, Maverick Hinkle. One uncle, James Lovedahl (Bonnie) and brother-in-law, Frank R. Davis, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins to cherish his memory. Mack graduated from Newport News High School, N.N. Shipbuilding Apprentice School, and attended The College of William and Mary. Mack retired from Newport News Shipbuilding Hi in 2012 as a Master Shipbuilder and enjoyed being a member of the Apprentice School Alumni, The Propeller Club and the Retired Men’s Breakfast Group along with family gatherings, sports, traveling, golf, and camping.
