Smithfield resident Joan Conover of Gatling Point South is president of the Seven Seas Cruising Association for 2022.
Conover was elected to the organization’s Board of Directors during the St. Augustine GAM/Convention in November. The board then elected its officers, including Conover as president.

Conover said SSCA, which has members from around the world, will continue efforts to promote the organization as “a dynamic and forward-thinking organization that helps cruisers around the world.”
“Our key programs will continue to make real differences,” she said. “SSCA is providing cruising tips, information, content via SSCA YouTube/Seven Seas University and website forum. Our mentoring program is sharing expertise for questions and needs of our membership.”
“Cruising station hosts” assist local cruisers and provide critical information via online reporting from locations around the world.
“We will continue our website expansion and will add additional features, maps and
More,” Conover said. “Plus our growing partner collaboration will continue to expand
across the maritime spectrum worldwide. We are a true family of cruisers, newly minted and
long term, and those who offer to support with their knowledge.”
