A Gloucester woman was indicted by a Suffolk grand jury Monday on multiple charges, including felony counts of involuntary manslaughter and aggravated involuntary manslaughter, in connection with a crash that killed a Smithfield man in November.
Alessandra Blaise DeMet of Gloucester also received direct indictments on two additional charges — a felony count of driving while intoxicated–maiming and improper control or driving with faulty breaks, a misdemeanor.
Glen Nelon, 83, of Smithfield, was pronounced dead at the scene of the Nov. 12 crash in the 2200 block of Bridge Road near the Mills Godwin Bridge, and two others had been reported to have life-threatening injuries at the time and were taken to the hospital. The crash took place just before 5:30 p.m.
As of early Tuesday afternoon, DeMet had not been taken into custody.
