South Carolina Americana singer Angela Easterling will perform this week for the Summer Concert Series on the front lawn of The Smithfield Times.

The show starts at 7 p.m. Friday at 228 Main St.

Easterling, who performs with partner Brandon Turner, “brandishes her songwriting chops with “rootsy, refreshing, homespun tunes” that she describes as “not quite country, not quite folk, but altogether unique and engaging.”

Easterling and Turner live with their three young sons on the Greer, South Carolina, farm that has been in her family since 1791. Her most recent release, “Common Law Wife”, went to No. 1 on the Roots Music Report Americana Country Airplay Chart, and remained in the top five on that chart for over two months, garnishing much praise in the press.  

The Summer Concert Series, which continues each Friday through Labor Day weekend, is sponsored by the Isle of Wight Arts League, Isle of Wight Tourism, the Town of Smithfield and The Smithfield Times.
