Editor, The Smithfield Times:

The headline “Smithfield voters oust mayor” in last week’s edition was in very poor taste. I worked very closely with Carter Williams for 12 years while I was on the Planning Commission, and I have not found anyone that works harder and loves the town of Smithfield more than he does.

Yes, he lost the election, but he deserves better than your tacky headline.
