Letter – About book banning …

Editor, The Smithfield Times:
Concerning this book-banning business, there is a perfect solution. We need to establish a wall of separation between education and state just as we need to establish a wall of separation between church and state.
Then if there was a school that taught that the earth was flat and had a statue of the Great Woo in front and you were OK with that, then send your kids there. But if you wanted to send them to a school that taught reason and science then you’d have that option. And the same goes for the books in their libraries.
Granted, that would be a dark day for lawyers, but sacrifices have to be made.
