Del. Emily Brewer, R-Isle of Wight, who is running for the state Senate in District 17, earlier this year was the primary sponsor of a bill in the General Assembly that could negatively impact Smithfield Foods’ business (House Bill 2385). Why would she do that?

It seems that her political extremism knows no bounds and that sponsoring bills like this will help her with party extremist leaders and move her up the ladder to higher elected positions.

What it will do to Isle of Wight County and our adjacent counties and our economies is potentially catastrophic. 

Fortunately, Del. Clint Jenkins, D-Suffolk, is running against her in SD 17. Del. Jenkins is an experienced legislator who cares about all people and wants to build and maintain a vibrant economy in SD 17. Reject extremism and vote for Del. Clint Jenkins to protect our economy from his politically ambitious opponent.
