Rutger “Forrest” White, 28, of Smithfield passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, August 26th, 2023. He was born on December 1st, 1994.
Forrest was the son of Dan and Karen White of Surry. He is survived by his daughter Isabella and wife of six years, Shyanne Botelho White; his brother Hunter and wife Kelsey, along with their daughter Lillian; parental grandmother Jo Alice White of Maryland and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and his beloved dogs, Bear and Tommy. He was preceded in death by his cousin Zeke Ensley, his maternal grandmother, Nina Coberly; his paternal grandfather, Willard White.
Forrest graduated from Isle of Wight Academy in 2013. He worked at Dan White Concrete from 2015 to 2017. He was a proud US Navy Veteran and served as a Head Reactor Supervisor and LPN from 2017-2021. He was the Owner/Operator at Tidewater Inspect, LLC from 2021-present.
Forrest was a devoted father and husband who enjoyed such hobbies as snowboarding, skateboarding, guitar, and going to the gym. He also enjoyed watching sports with his brother, Hunter, such as the NBA and UFC. He had a passion for cars and motorcycles, and loved taking trips with his father to places like the Dealers Gap in Tennessee. His favorite foods included his wifes’ homemade chicken parmesan and his grandma Ninas’ red velvet cake. Forrest was talented at many things like juggling and solving Rubik’s cubes. He was very musically inclined and incredible at the guitar. He had an amazing ability to make people laugh with his quirky sense of humor and quick wit. He will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends.
