The Jamestown-Scotland Ferry will operate at reduced capacity on Oct. 12 from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
During this time, only the Surry and Williamsburg ferries will be in service, according to a Virginia Department of Transportation news release.
Both vessels will continue to ferry motorists across the James River using the fall/winter/spring schedule.
Motorists may experience delays and can check traffic queues approximately half a mile from boarding locations in real-time on the VDOT 511 cameras.
The ferry is free and operates 24 hours per day, 365 days per year.
