A Carrollton man accused of shooting his neighbor during an attempted burglary has been charged with attempted murder.

Isle of Wight County sheriff’s deputies responded to the 2100 block of Victoria Court after a woman called 911 and told dispatchers a man was at her door on Oct. 23  just before 8 a.m. attempting to gain entry.

Deputies say 56-year-old Gregory Davis, also of the 2100 block of Victoria Court, began firing into the door, and that a bullet struck the woman in the lower leg as she attempted to flee to the rear of her home.
