On Nov. 15, the Cypress Creek Homeowners Association’s events committee donated $6,500 in profits from its annual “Oink and Oyster Roast” to 10 local organizations. The donations are the result of residents buying tickets and sponsorships from the Hampton Roads community. This year, donations went to the Smithfield High School baseball team, Luter Family YMCA, Isle of Wight County animal shelter, Edmarc Hospice, Isle of Wight County Volunteer Rescue Squad, Smithfield Volunteer Fire Department, Windsor Castle Park Foundation, Schoolhouse Museum, Rotary Club and Toys for Tots.
