An unidentified woman died in a single-vehicle crash at Brewers Neck Boulevard, north of New Town Haven Lane in Carrollton.

Virginia State Police were dispatched to the crash at approximately 11:02 p.m. on Jan. 23. According to police, the unidentified woman was driving north on Brewers Neck Boulevard in a 2004 Ford Taurus when she lost control of the vehicle, ran off the roadway and struck a ditch. The car overturned several times before ejecting her.

Due to the extent of her injuries, police were unable to identify the driver. Police say she was not wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash and it’s undetermined at this time if speed or alcohol were factors.

The body has been taken to the medical examiner’s office for positive identification.
