The Smithfield Times’ first annual Pawsitively Perfect Pets Photo Contest was positively perfect!

In March, residents from Smithfield, Isle of Wight and Surry submitted 115 pet photos. Friendly Fidos, cuddly kitties, horses and even a pig were represented in the contest.

From late March to early April, votes were cast by readers, their friends and families.

Taking home a $100 gift card and the title of Pawsitively Purrfect Pets are a dog and cats duo, named Piper and Cooper, submitted by Debra Webb, pictured above accepting a $100 gift certificate to Pet Paradise from Smithfield Times Regional Account Executive Taylor McMickle. Congratulations, Piper, Cooper and Debra!
