Editor, The Smithfield Times:
I would like to thank the four candidates supported by the Citizens for Responsible Leadership who are running for the Smithfield Town Council.
These four candidates have put forth a message of keeping growth in check and regulated along with ideas to help Smithfield keep its small-town charm and feel. These four candidates have taken the time to meet with many of the citizens of Smithfield to listen to their concerns and share ideas with those citizens of how they would try to help keep Smithfield to what so many of us have grown to love.
Mike Smith, Bill Harris, Mary Ellen Bebermeyer and Darren Cutler have chosen to run on a platform of prioritizing the needs of Smithfield and ways and ideas to achieve this. One of the best things these four candidates have done is listen to the citizens, which these days doesn’t happen enough. There is a big difference between hearing and listening. Smith, Bebermeyer, Harris and Cutler have listened, and we thank them for doing that.
It’s time for a much-needed change and I can’t think of four better candidates to help Smithfield achieve this much needed change.
So let’s vote Mike Smith, Mary Ellen Bebermeyer, Bill Harris and Darren Cutler to save Smithfield.
