The VFW and its Ladies Auxiliary of Post 8545 of Smithfield held a barbecue fundraiser for a local veteran on June 20. Along with the great food, we had a number of sponsors who donated items or gift certificates for us to raffle.

We want to thank the following for their support:

Tidewater Motorcycle of Suffolk, Seaboard Construction & Development, Oliver’s Pools, ASG Security, Smithfield In, Hair Worx, Sista’s Café, Farmers Service, Taste of Smithfield and Southern States of Windsor. A special thanks to Smithfield True Value Hardware for allowing us to set up in their parking lot.

The fundraiser was a huge success on a very hot day, with great public support. Thanks to one and all.
