To have a candidate endorsed unanimously by both, the Isle of Wight Republican Party and the Isle of Wight Democrat party is historic to say the least! This is proof that the people of Isle of Wight County are willing to come together for the greater good of our community, all in one accord, regardless of our party affiliation, and regardless of our race, for true bipartisanship support of Pastor William McCarty. The unanimous decision of these two parties coming together proves that I am not alone when I say that the people Isle of Wight are tired of the same old, same old, way of doing things.

We voted a Board of Supervisors into office, who in turn relinquished all control to staff administrators to make all decisions for we the people, and we say enough is enough. Please do not misunderstand me; I am not against administrators giving recommendations. That is their job. However, when the Board of Supervisors continually makes a habit of choosing administrator’s recommendations over the will of the majority of the people who voted them into office, it makes you wonder who is running the show. And, it makes you wonder why we even bother having elections for Board of Supervisors’ positions in the first place since they agree with administrative staff’s every decision.

People want a strong leader who will stand up and lead. We the people want a leader who most importantly, keeps in mind the will of the majority who voted him into office with every decision he makes when voting on the issues at hand. I have known William McCarty for eight years. He is a man of his word and I trust him with my vote.

This Nov. 3, join countless others, and myself, who have come to realize that enough is enough, and vote for Pastor William McCarty to the Newport District Board of Supervisors position. I believe he is a strong leader who will point us in the right direction and move us forward with the people’s voice.
