John F. Kennedy said that “Government alone will never be enough. In the end, the people must choose and the people must help themselves”. You may be sitting here reading this and wondering, how do I help myself or how do I choose the right way for myself much less this whole county of Isle of Wight?

I have known William McCarty for over 20 years and he is today the same man that I met those many years ago. On the first night that I met him, his desire was to listen to me and get to know me. In fact he made it a point to listen to everything I had to say for hours that first evening. That is just one of the many reasons I fell for him and continue to be married to him some 19 years later. William McCarty is different from everyone else. He didn’t listen out of ulterior motive. He listens out of a real desire to see change happen in his life and in others.

His desire is to listen to the people in the Newport District. He often says that “Everything and anything is fixable, but first you have to listen to people and understand the problem.” Listening to people and helping them fix the problem has been his lifelong goal. Whether as a business leader listening to complaints of customers or employees, or as a pastor listening to people’s problems and needs for spiritual advice, to being an attentive husband and father, William McCarty has spent his life listening to others and helping them makes sense of things for the greater good of all involved.

William McCarty will be attentive to the needs of the constituents of the Newport District. He will first listen to you before making decisions for this county. William McCarty will not tell you what you need, but he will work together with you to find a reasonable solution for all involved. The best choice I ever made was choosing William McCarty and it will be your best choice on Nov. 3 too.
