I would like to submit a letter of recommendation to The Smithfield Times for Mr. Russell Stephenson, candidate for the office of sheriff of Isle of Wight County.

I have known Mr. Stephenson for over six years now, since I became the Pastor of Living Hope Community Fellowship, where Mr. Stephenson has been a longstanding member. It has been a privilege to know him and to work with him in our church, where he has served as a leader and as a Deacon for many years. His dependability, faithfulness, commitment and integrity have been a source of encouragement to many at Living Hope.

In addition, I have observed Mr. Stephenson serve the community with honor and excellence as both a deputy sheriff and as a local business owner. He is well known in Isle of Wight where he was raised and has lived for many years. I have seen him demonstrate a desire to help improve our community and the lives of those who live here.

He brings wisdom, an ability to see what needs to be done, and a positive attitude that unites others to achieve the goals that need to be reached. At the same time, he demonstrates humility and an ability to connect with individuals from all walks of life which enables him to be a successful leader. For these reasons, I highly recommend Russell Stephenson to be the next Sheriff of Isle of Wight County.
