As a resident of the Newport Election District, I would like to express my support for Victoria Hulick for School Board. As a concerned citizen of Isle of Wight and a parent of three students in the school system I believe Vicky Hulick is the best and the only sensible choice for the Newport District School Board seat.

Vicky is an active and involved citizen and has been even before she chose to run for school board. She attends School Board and Board of Supervisor meetings not just because it looks good for a candidate to do so, but because she wants to be involved in the community in which she lives.

Vicky understands being invested in our schools involves much more than simply paying taxes. She will have a child in our school system for the next 17 years and understands being fully invested means being fully involved with our schools. She is an active volunteer at Carrollton and has made the effort to visit the schools that serve the Newport District to meet with the building Principals and talk with them about their concerns.

As a former teacher Vicky understands the needs of teachers, but also understands that being a teacher should not be the primary reason one is elected to the School Board. A good School Board member should be involved in their community and be the type of person one wants making decisions which will affect our children who attend IWCS. Vicky is exactly this person and that is why she has my support.
