The Navy’s Fleet Forces Band will bring its holiday concert, “Home for the Holidays,” to Smithfield Thursday.

Thursday’s program will include Tchaikovsky’s “Miniature Overture,” “Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairies” and “Russian Dance.”

Dr. Seuss will be remembered with “You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch,” and Duke Ellington will be saluted as the band performs his “Overture” and “Peanut Brittle Brigade.”

The concert will include a Christmas sing along, with the audience led by band members.

Appropriately, the final song prior to the sing along will be “Let There Be Peace on Earth.”

Thursday’s performance is being sponsored by The Smithfield Times, the Isle of Wight Arts League and the town of Smithfield. It concludes the Summer Concert Series for this year.
