Blues concert Friday

The Bobby BlackHat Band performs Friday, June 3, on the gazebo stage in downtown Smithfield.

The music begins at 8 p.m. and the concert is free. Bring a chair or blanket for added comfort.

Members of the Smithfield High School band plan to organize a “street corner” concert earlier in the evening.

The Bobby BlackHat Band is led by Bobby Walters, an award-winning blues recording artist, vocalist, harmonica player and songwriter.

This is the Summer Concert Series’ 30th season. Sponsored by The Smithfield Times and the Isle of Wight Arts League, the event provides free entertainment each Friday from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
