Love the sounds of the big band era? You’re in luck. The Williamsburg Swing Orchestra will perform all those favorites from the 1930s and 1940s, such as Glenn Miller, Tommy Dorsey, Count Basie and more.

The concert begins at 8 p.m., Friday, July 27 at The Smithfield Times gazebo stage on Main Street in downtown Smithfield.

The Summer Concert Series, celebrating its 30th season, is sponsored by The Smithfield Times and the Isle of Wight Arts League.

Next up is the Smithfield Little Theatre variety show on Aug. 5.

Tams concert tickets

Free tickets to the September Tams concert will be available beginning Thursday.

The Tams, a 1960s Beach Music sensation, will close the 30th season of the Summer Concert Series with a performance at The Smithfield Center Friday, Sept. 2 at 8 p.m. Because of limited seating for the indoor performance, admission will be by free ticket. Tickets will be given to the first 400 people asking for them, and can be picked up at Smithfield and Isle of Wight Visitor Center, The Smithfield Times and The Smithfield Center.
