SAN FRANCISCO Calif. — Christopher Douglas Shanks, 55, passed away on Friday, Nov. 29, 2019 following a long illness. He is survived by his mother, Doris Shanks of Florida; two sisters, Brenda Saucier (Chuck) of Tennessee, Pamela Griffith (Karl) of Smithfield; two brothers, James Shanks of New Hampshire, Michael Shanks of Florida; a nephew, Jimmie Russell of Smithfield; and two nieces, Erika Sherrod (Chris) of Virginia Beach and Sarah Russell of Smithfield. 

He was preceded in death by his father, Jimmie H. Shanks, USN-retired.
