Notice is hereby given that the Isle of Wight County Board of Supervisors will hold a Public Hearing on Thursday, June 18, 2020, pursuant to Section 15.2-2507 of the Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended, to consider a proposed budget amendment which exceeds one percent of the total expenditures shown in the adopted FY19-20 Operating and Grant Budget. Specifically, the amendment proposes to appropriate $3,237,617.00 from the Coronavirus Relief Fund Payments to the Grant Fund and General Fund to be used in accordance with the provisions of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act of 2020.

Any person desiring to be heard in favor of, in opposition to, or to express his or her views with respect to said ordinance amendment may appear before and be heard by said Board of Supervisors during the Public Hearing to be held in the Robert C. The tax exemption classification would apply to personal property owned by Smithfield VA Events, with an assessed value of $7,887 and current annual tax of $354.92.

The lease amendment extends the term of the lease for an additional five (5) year term with the option to renew said lease for three (3) additional five (5) year terms.

1. Proposed Real Estate tax increase from .05/$100 to .065/$100

2. Proposed Personal Property tax increase from .60/$100 to .68/$100

3. Proposed Budget for fiscal year 2020/2021 for Town, Water and Sewer

4. Council will vote to adopt the proposed Real Estate tax increase, proposed Personal Property tax increase, and proposed budget for 2020/2021

The proposed budgets will be available to view at the Clerk’s Office at Town Hall during business hours. The Public Hearing will be conducted at 7:00pm at the Town Hall, 4115 Spring Grove Avenue, Claremont Virginia.
