Auction brings in donations

Elevate Church and RECORE felt the giving spirits of the community and recently announced that the inaugural ELEVATE HOPE online auction was met with great success. Through the 39 items auctioned off, as well as other donations, those in need in the community will benefit directly from the funds raised, a total of $3,039.

RECORE promised to match every dollar raised, up to $1,000, from the auction, and its chief executive officer was looking forward to signing a maximum donation check.

“We had full confidence in the nearby community and our neighbors…but we also recognized that it’s been a challenging year, for everyone. We are thrilled to see that the giving spirit was not diminished this holiday season,” said Steven Harmon, CEO of RECORE.

“We knew what we were up against, but we also knew that God would provide — and that He did!” said Pastor Thomas-Steele Carr of Elevate Church.

Elevate Church and RECORE are no strangers to this partnership. Last year, they collected more than 2,075 items of food during their holiday collaboration. Due to the continued COVID-19 challenges and uncertainties, both organizations wanted to get creative to provide hope to families. The auction was a last-minute creative venture, and a proven success.

Both organizations thanked to Jessica Parr, chief brand officer at RECORE; Glen Presson, director of operations at RECORE; and Karla Cobb, longtime member at Elevate Church. It was because of their hard work — and the bidding of the very generous winners and donors — that they are able to continue the effort to give back to the community.
